The student is introduced to the fundamental principles of Pilates, the proper use of breath, correct abdominal engagement, alignment of the spine, freedom in the joints. The basic exercises of the mat repertoire are explained and practiced with attention to individual corrections.
Pilates was created by a man and was later adapted for women! Men generally have less flexibility and a greater degree of upper body strength than women. We adapt the exercises in a way that men feel comfortable in class and reap the benefits of the method. Men are welcome in all of our classes.
Using the central piece of apparatus of the Pilates family-the Reformer Bed, incorporates a series of highly effective Reformer exercises reinforcing the basic principles and movements of these exercises as created by Joseph Pilates. The session is taught in an environment playing with choreography, music, rhythm and body movement to re-educate the body to move more dynamically.
The class is designed with an all over body workout in mind, allowing different levels of an exercise to accommodate all strengths and weaknesses. Participants learn how merging the elements of core control, correct breathing and proper alignment can give a holistic fitness workout, allowing smooth continuous movements to be achieved and leaving them energized.
This highly versatile and amazing piece of apparatus allows for continued progression of exercise in terms of variation and difficulty. We will introduce in a timely fashion more and more advanced levels, although many students will continue to enjoy and benefit from sessions at any level.
We are equipped with THE LATEST APPARATUSES AND ACCESSORIES.
